Sailing and yachting

Saint Jean has thrived thanks to the harbour and its related activities.

The marina

The marina, which is currently being renovated, accommodates almost 560 boats, both those permanently and temporarily docked. It features two pontoons allowing large vessels to oversee the disembarking and embarking of customers, as well as enjoying all the port amenities. As part of its environmental protection strategy, the Port company has been awarded the ‘Port Propre’ certification for its new user area. A new pedestrian area was opened in April 2017, allowing amateur yachtsmen and visitors to enjoy the shops, restaurants and exhibition rooms along the port's main quay.
Since spring 2017, classic boats have been docked at the main quay, much to the delight of visitors and sailing enthusiasts. The main quay has, from the spring onwards, accommodated traditional ships, much to the delight of visitors and classic boat enthusiasts. Water activities are on offer within the different port establishments. It is also possible to hire a boat or have a go at snorkelling.

The harbour master’s office

The port currently has 8 quays as well as 12 pontoons. It has a berthing capacity of 562 boats plus a 50m berth in the outer harbour. In the northern part of the marina is a careening area and dock. There is another careening area and slipway in the Old Port, which is reserved for ‘Fishing boats and amateur yachtsmen’ and professional fishing boats. The visitors’ quay and the refuelling station are located to the north of the port, in the outer harbour. The port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat provides all the services expected by amateur yachtsmen, including a shipyard, refuelling station and various shops and restaurants.
Due to its geographical location, the port is exposed to swells from the EAST, and is protected from them by a long embankment. The mouth of the harbour is located on the north side; access may be difficult due to an EASTERLY wind.
